Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2, 2026
This is a plain-English summary of the terms we currently operate under, and it isn’t legal advice.
These terms are the agreement between you and workalong when you use the product. They cover what we provide, what you’re responsible for, how billing works, and the fair expectations on both sides. We’ve written them to be read, not just signed. By creating an account or using workalong, you agree to them.
Acceptance
By signing up for or using workalong, you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and any company you represent. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the product. If you’re agreeing for a company, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
The service
workalong is a hiring tool for small teams. You build a job page and train an AI “twin” that candidates chat with. The twin answers in your company’s voice, helps qualify candidates as they chat, and can notify you to join a live call or take over the conversation yourself. You stay in control of your pages, your twin, and your hiring.
Accounts and eligibility
You need an account to use workalong, and you’re responsible for keeping your login details safe and for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and you agree to use the product for genuine, lawful hiring.
workalong’s services are exclusively offered to companies and entrepreneurs (Unternehmer) in the sense of § 14 German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch, BGB), i.e. natural or legal persons or partnerships with legal capacity exercising their commercial or independent professional activity. This is not an offering to consumers (Verbraucher) in the sense of § 13 German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch, BGB).
Your content and candidate data
You own your content: your job pages, the way you train your twin, your notes, and the candidate data you collect through workalong. It’s yours, and it stays yours.
With that ownership comes responsibility. You’re responsible for hiring lawfully and fairly, which means no discrimination and following the employment and data protection laws that apply to you. You’re responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and process the candidate data that flows through your pages, and for being straight with candidates about how their data is used.
So we can run the service, you grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display your content and candidate data, purely to operate and improve the product for you. That license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we need to keep a copy briefly to meet legal or security obligations.
Acceptable use
Use workalong for real hiring, and keep it clean. In particular, you agree not to:
- Use the product for anything illegal, discriminatory, or deceptive.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data from the product or from candidates.
- Abuse the twin, whether by trying to break it, flood it, or bend it to purposes it isn’t for.
- Attempt to breach security, reverse-engineer the platform, or access data that isn’t yours.
- Post content that infringes someone else’s rights or that you don’t have the right to use.
Billing
Building and testing a role is free. You can create draft pages, train twins, and run test conversations without paying anything.
You pay $25 per published live role per month, billed one month at a time. Billing for a role starts when you publish it and open it to candidates. You can close or unpublish a role at any time, with no notice period and no long-term commitment, and you won’t be charged for it again. Roles are billed by the whole month, so a partial month isn’t prorated or refunded. Candidate conversations are included under fair use, and if a role gets genuinely huge traffic we’ll reach out before anything changes rather than surprise you with a bill.
Our intellectual property
The workalong platform, including the software, the twin technology, our branding, and everything we build to make the product work, is ours and stays ours. Using workalong doesn’t transfer any of that to you beyond the right to use the product under these terms. Your content stays yours; our platform stays ours.
Service availability and changes
We work hard to keep workalong up and running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may update, add, or remove features as the product evolves. If we plan a change that meaningfully reduces what you rely on, we’ll aim to give you reasonable notice.
Disclaimers
workalong is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. The twin is an aid, not a decision-maker. It helps you surface and understand candidates, but it doesn’t make hiring decisions, and it isn’t legal, compliance, or employment advice. You make the hiring decisions, and you’re responsible for making them fairly and lawfully.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, workalong isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities arising from your use of the product. Where liability can’t be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Termination
You can stop using workalong and close your account at any time, and you can cancel any role whenever you like. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if the product is misused, or if we need to for legal or security reasons. When an account closes, your right to use the product ends, and you can export your data before you go. We’ll delete your data on request, as described in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law change. When we make a meaningful update we’ll revise the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know directly. If you keep using workalong after an update, the current version applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where workalong is established, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction, unless a mandatory law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
